Facade / 2006 / Arti et Amicitiae / Amsterdam

King William III visits Arti on 14 April 1860, a painting by J.B. Tetar van Elven, shows the original open ceiling of the Arti et Amicitiae’s largest exhibition hall, located in the centre of Amsterdam.

This painting was hung on the wall opposite a wall-sized black and white print.   The black and white print is of a photo created by the artist, which shows the hidden space located directly above the hall’s opal-glass ceiling.
